Pensioner Concessions

If you are a concession card holder you may be entitled to the pensioner exemption or concession.

To be eligible you must:

  • be the holder of one of the relevant concession cards at the date of the transfer;

Eligible pensioners can only receive the exemption or concession once.

From 1 July 2011, the concession will also be made available to self-funded retirees who hold a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

Principal Place of Residence Concession

The principal place of residence (PPR) concession is available to home purchases valued between $130,000 and $550,000.

First Home Owner Concession

For settlements dates on or after 1 July 2011, first home buyers will become eligible for a 20% cut to land transfer duty for purchasing homes worth up to $600,000.
