Enduring Power of Attorney (Financial)

We recommend you make an enduring power of attorney (financial) appointing a family member or trusted friend to look after their affairs in the event that you are no longer able to by reason of illness or accident.

The power of attorney must be in a specific form and requires at least one of the witnesses to be a solicitor or a person who can witness statutory declarations, who must certify that the person granting the power of attorney has the necessary capacity. It is important that you obtain legal advice and have the power prepared and certified by a solicitor.
