For many years, Liz Harriott was torn between pursuing a career in Law or Journalism. Both fields had captured her attention from a young age, and it wasn’t until her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Melbourne was well underway that she knew Law was where her future lay. After her Arts degree, Liz completed the Melbourne Juris Doctor (JD), a graduate Law degree, and has been a practising lawyer since 2020.
Growing up in Bendigo, Liz knew she would return to her hometown. So, after time away at University and working at a Melbourne law firm, Liz joined Robertson Hyetts in Bendigo in 2021.
Liz spent her time in Melbourne working in Family Law, which she found rewarding yet challenging. Since joining Robertson Hyetts, Liz has moved into Property Law, which allows her to focus on guiding and helping clients while working behind the scenes on complex matters – perfect for her investigative nature.
“Helping clients navigate the Law in a way they understand is my priority.”
Liz is inspired by the collaborative culture of the Robertson Hyetts office and enjoys being part of such a supportive, high-performing team.
Working in Conveyancing, Liz’s attention to detail and positive, friendly nature makes sure her interactions are always client-focused while keeping the big picture in mind.
“Conveyancing is a great area to work in. It often feels celebratory, especially when you’ve helped someone purchase a new home for the first time.”
Beyond honing her skills and experience as a young Lawyer, Liz can’t wait to step onto a plane again and get back to exploring the world.
